of Hidrostal AG a major Swiss pump manufacturing business
established in 1967. Today the Swiss Company has a substantial
production and distribution network world wide, via subsidiary
companies or exclusive distributors. |

Hidrostal Limited was
formed in 1980 and is based in Newbury, Berkshire with additional
facilities in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Nr. Leeds. Bare shaft pumps
are brought to the UK, where they are
customised to specification. This includes the fitting of seals,
local manufacture of drive assemblies for vertical sump pumps, fabrication
of baseplates for horizontal units and assembly to UK procured motors
and couplings.
Hidrostal is committed to a high degree of
vertical integration of manufacture, so that the design and quality
are optimised. The manufacturing plant has quality accreditation
to ISO 9001. Hidrostal Limited provide technical and application
support to overseas associates and are responsible for marketing
Hidrostal products in several regions, including the UK, Africa,
the Middle East and India/Pakistan.

Pegasus
Accounts Software
Hidrostal Ltd have been using Pegasus accounts software for their
business management financial reporting since 1990. Over the years,
they have progressively migrated from Pegasus Senior to Opera and
continue to show their confidence in Pegasus by recently upgrading
to Opera II – the Pegasus flagship accounts software package for
larger businesses.

DataFlex Software Design
Hidrostal have been using a bespoke Quote and Order Processing
application since 1992 with progressive enhancements
to meet the company's expansion. The software is designed and used as a multi-user
system, at multiple locations, running on Windows 98/2000/XP/NT platforms.

Network
Configuration
Blue Chip have supplied and supported Hidrostal’s networked
computer systems since 1990. The original network consisted of
a few Windows 3.11 based PCs with PowerLan Peer-to-Peer networking
on 10Mbit coax cabling. Since that time, the network hardware and
software has been progressively upgraded and expanded to keep pace
with the company’s rapid growth and in step with technological
developments. Today the computer network core consists of a powerful
Server running Windows 2000 SBS, on 100Mbs cat5 backbone cabling,
35 PCs, Laser Printers, Network Faxing, ADSL 2000 for SMTP Mail
and Internet access, plus the Leeds networked office is linked
by a Kilostream feed to the central server hub. In addition, the
remote sales personnel can also connect to the network via VPN
links.
